Leaving on a Jet Plane

Today I am sooooo excited. I just booked my ticket back to Isla for October 24th thru November 5th!! Only 28 more days.
I am looking forward to doing some of this:
Photobucket
With the help of my good friend and travel agent Kathryn. from Kathryn's Travel ,I found a ticket on Northwest for $414.00, but it will end up being free when I use my Capital One miles to pay for it!! If you are ever looking to travel to Isla and need some help contact Kathryn. She can help you book your whole trip from Airport Transfers to lodging and much more.
Now I have to get my butt in gear to get all my book work caught up and lose some more weight. (I've lost 17 pounds so far) Biggy B has even let me know that he has noticed my weight loss and body toning. It's amazing how much better I feel too.
One thing I am really looking forward to this trip is meeting some of my fellow bloggers in the area!!

Anniversary Weekend

Biggy B and I celebrated our 12 year Anniversary Sunday. We took a nice motorcycle ride Saturday afternoon over to Wisconsin and relaxed around the house on Sunday. I forgot to take my camera on our ride, but we stopped at The Tenba Ridge Winery in Wisconsin. A beautiful family owned Winery with Alsatian-style wines in small batches. We ended up purchasing a bottle of Apple Rasberry Wine to take home. Biggy B wants to go back in a few weeks with a picnic lunch and sit on their beautiful patio to sip wine and look at the fall leaves changing colors. (Today is the official first day of fall) I will bring my camera that day.
I did start working on a garden around "the big Oak tree" this weekend. I will post some pictures of it later this week.
I figured out one of my "Bucket List" items this weekend. One thing I want to do before I die is drive to Isla with our Harley's in tow. I don't think my butt could take the ride all the way there on the Harley.

Creating a "Bucket List"

Yesterday Biggy B and I watched movies and "vegged" on the couch. The weather was cold and rainy so it was a good day to snuggle in with our blankets and pillows.
We watched "The Bucket List." What a great movie. A comedy that even made Biggy B cry in the end.

At the end of the movie I thought about my "Bucket List." What do I want to do before I die? What would I be able to afford to do? What would be important to me if I found out I only had a year to live?

I still have not been able to start the list, but am thinking hard about it. Do you have a "Bucket List?" What are some of the items on yours? Would love to hear what you readers think.

Dogs, Cats and Kids...Oh My!!

Angel, our dog, had a great weekend when her biggest cheerleader, Emmy, came to visit her for a night.
Photobucket
Emmy is the daughter of our good friends from Iowa. When she was 18 months old she was in a terrible farm accident. Her arm had gone into the moving blade of a big barn fan and pretty much cut it off. She has since gone through many surgeries and is doing great! She always comes up to the Mayo Clinic for check ups and surgeries.
Emmy met Angel when Angel was a puppy and they have been buddies ever since. Emmy wrote her favorite show and tell story about Angel and our other German shepard Cleo, who has since passed away. She tells her mom that she would come and live with Brenda, but I think she really just wants to live with Angel.
Then Hacker, our adopted stray cat, was in his own photo shoot.

The little girl in the picture is our neighbor, Maria. Her mom was taking photos of the kids by the rocks in our yard and Hacker wanted to get in on the action. Little did I know he is such a cooperative photo prop.

Who are your true friends?

When you find out that someone, who you thought was a true best friend, talks bad about you behind your back...what do you do? For over two weeks now I have been struggling with this question.

Someone whom I thought was one of my closest friends decided to dog Biggy B and I behind out backs. When I was told about what was said, at first I was angry!! Then my anger turned to hurt. Hey, I am almost 44 years old. This is suppose to happen when we are teenagers, not when we are adults.

Yesterday, I decided it was time to confront the situation in my own way, which at this time is the best way I know how. I wrote a letter to this friend and confronted them about the whole situation. I gave them the option of calling me to discuss it, or just walk away.

When Biggy B came home from work last night, after talking for a bit, he said to me, "You seem like you are in a better mood." I told him what I had done, and in doing so I have realized who really is my truest and best friend.....Biggy B.

If something isn't right in our friendship/relationship we talk to eachother about it. We share our hurts, happiness and hurtles. He is my husband, my business partner and my best friend.
My mom always had a saying when I was growing up which went like this.
"Friends in your life will come and go, but your family will always be there."

600 Mile Journey

This past weekend was about this:
Photobucket

Biggy B and I went on a 600 mile Harley ride to spend some time together, just the two of us. Summer time is our busy time so there isn't a lot of quality time spent together.

We started out on Saturday morning with no agenda, except that we wanted to ride through Wisconsin. They have better roads for riding then Minnesota.
Photobucket
My mom was happy to know that we wore our helmets the whole trip.

I won't bore you with all the details, but here is a picture blog of our ride.
Neat Pub we stopped at on Lake Namekagon

Another neat Pub on Lake Namekogon

They had a really neat saying on their menu that pretty much summed it up for us and our weekend!!

That night we stayed in Drummand, Wisconisin at a cute Bed and Breakfast.

We were up the next morning and on the road at 8am. Stopped to take a picture of these sunflower fields.

Our destination.....Madeline Island on Lake Superior. Brian has always wanted to see it, so we figured we would see it on our Harley's.
On the ferry going to Island.

The view looking back at Bay City. I think the neat old buildings had been a convent at one time.

I think my favorite part of the island was this place.
Photobucket
Named "Tom's Burned Down Cafe" because it has burned down twice. The best thing was the decor.

The whole place was filled with signs painted with different sayings.

We had planned on staying somewhere else for another night, but Biggy B started getting sick. We pushed the 350 miles home yesterday afternoon. By the time we were home Biggy B had chills and fever. Put him in the hot tub to try and warm him up. He has been in bed ever since.
I am pretty sore from the riding, but all in all it was a great journey!!
